Fernandes and Fred shine: player ratings from Man United 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Manchester United have secured their place in this month’s Carabao Cup final after a two-goal win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday evening set them on their way to Wembley.

Erik ten Hag’s men were victorious by a whopping five goals over the two games and they will now face Newcastle United on February 26, with the Reds looking to end their six-year wait for a trophy.

United barely got out of second gear over the 90 minutes at Old Trafford but Ten Hag’s substitutions after roughly an hour seemed to add the spark they needed to register another win on the board.
