Team news: Manchester United host Crystal Palace in bid for 13th consecutive win

Manchester United take on Crystal Palace on Saturday, February 4 at Old Trafford in a 3 pm kick-off.

The Reds will be keen to see out a more positive result than last time; the reverse fixture ended a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park with Michael Olise netting an injury-time free-kick. It is the team’s return to Premier League action for the first time since January 22, when they suffered a 3-2 defeat against Arsenal in North London after matching the league leaders stride for stride until the closing stages of the game.

They’re back on home turf now though, a place where United have not tasted defeat for 12 consecutive matches. The past week-and-a-half has been full of cup action for Erik ten Hag and his men; two Carabao Cup semi-final legs resulted in a 5-0 win and United booking their place at Wembley on February 26, and a 3-0 against Reading will see an Old Trafford clash against West Ham in the FA Cup fifth round.

United team news:

Christian Eriksen will be on the sidelines until late April/early May after sustaining an ankle injury, whilst Scott McTominay is recovering from a muscle problem.

A huge boost for Ten Hag is the return of Diogo Dalot to training after three weeks out of action, however, the manager will likely want to monitor his minutes whilst he gets used to being back on the pitch.

Jadon Sancho made his first appearance since October on Wednesday evening which sparked a joyous reaction from the Theatre of Dreams when he was substituted into the game.

New recruit Marcel Sabitzer, who has joined the club on loan from Bayern Munich, could be in line to make his debut on Saturday.

Palace team news

Patrick Vieira will be without Palace talisman and former Red Wilfried Zaha, as the attacker is currently receiving treatment for a hamstring issue. James McArthur and Nathan Ferguson are also unavailable due to injuries.

Joachim Andersen could make his first appearance in two matches.
