(Video) Ruben Selles believes Southampton deserve more praise after Old Trafford draw

Southampton manager Ruben Selles believes his Southampton side deserved more credit for their performance against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Spanish coach was complaining about how all of the post-match coverage focused on Manchester United’s red card after Casemiro was sent for an early shower in the Premier League meeting last weekend.

Following a studs-up challenge on Southampton’s Carlos Alcaraz, Casemiro will miss the next four domestic matches through suspension.

“Nobody praised us,” Selles said. “Everybody spoke about the red card.”

Do Southampton warrant more praise?

No, not at all. They’re a relegation struggling side that was given an opportunity to beat United reduced to 10-men and it ended in a scoreless draw.

What praise does Selles think Southampton warrant for that when they were lucky enough to clinch a point on their travels to Old Trafford?

The Saints need to avoid relegation before Selles or his players warrant any any praise. Even from their own fans!
