Michael Carrick has emerged as the favourite for the Crystal Palace job.
That is according to bookmakers Ladbrokes who make the Middlesbrough boss a 4/1 favourite to take charge after Patrick Vieira’s dismissal.
Vieira was sacked on Friday morning after a shocking run of just one win in their last 14 games, so the Eagles are immediately expected to be on the lookout for a new manager.
As things stand, Palace are far from safe. They are just three points clear of the bottom three.
Former Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick now leads the list of potential replacements. You can get him priced at 4/1 to land the Palace job.
The problem for Carrick is does he jump ship at a time he’s doing an incredible job at Boro, with there being a chance of automatic promotion to the top flight this season?
Carraick has taken the Teesside’s to just six points of automatic promotion but they were in trouble when he took over at the beginning of the season.
