The FA are mulling over the length of Marco Silva and Aleksandar Mitrovic’s respective bans.
An FA spokesperson has issued a regulation and discipline update on Twitter, confirming the pair had been charged following the incidents that took place in the second half of Manchester United’s quarter-final tie with Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Their behaviour, as well as Willian’s handball, led to United being able to complete a drastic turnaround in under five minutes. The match ended 3-1 after a brace from Bruno Fernandes and Marcel Sabitzer’s first goal for the club, with the Reds advancing to the semi-finals.
Mitrovic could face lengthy ban
There has been speculation since the game regarding how long Silva and Mitrovic will be ruled out of action – in the dugout and on the pitch. Some people are suggesting the forward should be suspended until the end of the season due to the nature of his red card.

Mitrovic has been Fulham’s top goalscorer this season with 12 goals in all competitions and it could seriously dent the team’s hopes of a high finish in the league if he is unavailable for selection for a prolonged period of time.
