(Video) Andy Mitten says Manchester United takeover is splitting the fanbase

Manchester United fans want their football club debt free.

They are also desperate to get rid of the Glazers, but there’s no denying that the fanbase is torn on whether they would prefer Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Al Thani or Sir Jim Ratcliffe to buy the club, if the American family decide to sell.

It is believed that others have bid for the club — including Finnish entrepreneur Thomas Zilliacus — but question marks remain over who wants to get rid of the Glazers entirely and whether they will plan to clear the heavy debt that has hung over Manchester United for 17-years.

United We Stand editor Andy Mitten is always a voice of reason when it comes to United. He appeared on Sky Sports News on Thursday to discuss the latest developments at Old Trafford.

“It’s splitting the fanbase,” Mitten said.
