Manu Kone proud of reported interest amid Manchester United links

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag could do with strengthening the midfield position in the summer transfer window. One name that has been linked with a move to Old Trafford is Manu Kone.

Erik ten Hag made it his priority to bolster the midfield last summer but uncertain futures and injury problems mean that United may need to reinforce that area once more this year. That said, it is believed that United will prioritise a new centre-forward this summer.

The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder is a hot community this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and United all believed to be eyeing a move for the 21-year-old.

Kone, who has a contract at Gladbach until 2025, recently spoke with Le Parisien (H/t Paris Fans) about the interest he is receiving from top clubs throughout Europe.

“At the moment, I am in Mönchengladbach,” Koné told the French media outlet. “I live well with rumors, I don’t pay attention to everything that is said. It’s more my entourage and my friends who send me the articles.

“It’s a source of pride for them to see my name associated with big clubs, but it doesn’t make me hot or cold. I prefer to finish my season quietly. Afterward, what must happen will happen.”

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently stated that the 21-year-old could cost more than €50m to prize away from Gladbach.

It should go without saying that Gladbach will be reluctant to let him leave anytime soon.
