BVB sporting director denies offers for Jude Bellingham amid Manchester United links

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has stressed there is no offer on the table for Jude Bellingham, despite suggestions he is close to signing for Real Madrid.

Jude Bellingham is one of the most sought after young prospects in Europe ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old has been on the radar for Manchester United since his Birmingham days. While that is believed to still be the case, as per the Manchester Evening News, Bellingham is also wanted by both Man City and Liverpool.

All of this means it won’t be easy to sign Bellingham this summer. We will likely face resistance from his present club and have to deal with competition from around Europe for his signature.

However, Kehl insists no agreement has been reached and Dortmund will try to keep the player — for another year at least.

Kehl also denied that a fee has been set for interested clubs to meet.

“We will try everything [to keep Bellingham] because we’re very ambitious, we want to keep the best players in our squad in this team and our club to perform,” Kehl told ESPN, as quoted by GOAL.

“But to come back to Jude, there’s nothing to decide at the moment, there’s nothing on the table, no offer, no news.”

“Jude is very focused on the next game, next weeks then we will decide how it develops. I know how the business is. In the end, you have to react to that specific situation.

“There’s no guidelines, no description on what to do and not to do. We have to take everything into consideration, we are still coming [back] from Covid, €150m is a lot of money [that] we lost in the past. I fight for the team, [fight for] the best players and Jude is one of them, we’ll see how this works.”

No ‘plastic clubs’

Patrick Berger of Germany’s SPORT1 recently appeared on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel/podcast and suggested that Bellingham had no interest in joining what he described as “plastic clubs”.

Berger said: “He doesn’t want to go to a kind of “plastic club.” He loves to see a passion in the whole city, he played in the past for Birmingham, which is a worker club with a big history of worker fans, a worker city. The same with Borussia Dortmund.

“He wants to see that in his future. He wants to have a big relationship with the fans.

“With City, I was told it’s not the kind of club he wants…his father Mark Bellingham is very critical with Manchester City. I would say it’s going to be Real Madrid.”

  1. Man utd should try and encourage Meijbri Hannibal and Iqbal Zidane instead of spending extravagantly on Jude Bellingham.
