Sergio Ramos urges Harry Kane to join Real Madrid

Real Madrid want to sign Harry Kane and they won’t make it a secret this summer.

Manchester United may have made the Tottenham captain their top target for the summer transfer window, with Erik ten Hag making it clear time and time again that a new striker is needed to share the goalscoring burden with Marcus Rashford.

However, United are now set to face stiff competition from Real Madrid as the Spanish giants as replacement for Karim Benzema.

This means there will be a race to sign Kane this summer.

It is understood that Tottenham’s preference — thanks to Daniel Levy — is to sell Kane to an overseas club. This makes it a difficult task for United to sign England’s all-time record goalscorer.

In turn, Sergio Ramos has urged Kane to join Real Madrid.

“My advice to any player is don’t turn down the opportunity to play for Real Madrid – it is a special club who know how to win,” Ramos told The Mirror.

“He [Kane] has an incredible physical presence, you can’t score as many goals as he does in the Premier League and not be able to play the physical side of the game.

“But also he can play the technical side of the game as well and I don’t think he gets enough credit for that.

“Yes, he is a great scorer but also he is a great football player as well.”

Ramos won 22 trophies during his time at Real Madrid, but he’s currently playing for PSG in Ligue 1.

Speaking about Benzema’s exit, Ramos added: “He [Benzema] has contributed to so much success with Real Madrid you will never be able to replace him – he is one of those players who is unique in the history of Madrid.

“What you do need to do though is bring in a quality forward who can come in and score goals.

“Not everybody can play for Real Madrid as there is so much pressure and expectation – so it needs to be the right player.”
