Manchester United remain confident in Mason Mount pursuit despite Chelsea’s high asking price

Manchester United have been linked with Mason Mount in recent weeks and could make the Chelsea star their first signing of the summer.

According to ESPN, there is confidence that a deal can be agreed to see Mount make the move to the Red Devils, despite the clubs’ differing valuations of the player.

The 24-year-old has one year remaining on his contract, so Chelsea are adamant about getting their money’s worth to avoid him leaving as a free agent at the end of next season.

Chelsea unwilling to sanction Mount exit

As per the report, the London club are holding out for a £60 million bid to sanction the exit of their academy graduate, who provided an assist to guide the team to a second Champions League title in 2021.

However, Mount is keen on making the switch from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford after 18 years as a Blue. Whilst it’s unconfirmed, he may place pressure on the board to oversee his departure as he seeks a new venture under Erik ten Hag.

  1. Considering there has been no official bid from Utd.

Chelsea will not negotiate with a fee lower then 70 million.
    this report is utter nonsense

    1. Liverpool are gonna sign Mac allister for 55m. It would be very man utd to pay 70m for a comparable player (maybe not style but quality) that has one year left on his contract.

I won’t pretend to having seen lots of mount. Only for England and he’s been awful for many games whilst having the odd good game but I know he is well rated. However one year left is one year left. United should walk if Chelsea want more than 55m. Is time the club started walking away from deals. Is there a worse club in football at negotiating. They just never have a plan b.

  2. Just do it for ten hag imagine trying to get him for years in his team and now there’s a real opportunity to get mount for him to play under ten hag so just do it whatever it takes to get mount
