Two Premier League clubs offered chance to sign Harry Maguire this summer

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have been made aware of Harry Maguire’s availability ahead of the forthcoming transfer window.

That’s according to ESPN, which confirms the two Premier League clubs have been “offered the chance to explore a deal” for Manchester United’s club captain.

Across the 2022/2023 campaign, Maguire made just eight starts in the Premier League – a drastic drop-off from the 28 starts he made the season prior.

This is largely due to Lisandro Martinez’s arrival, as the Argentinian has formed a formidable partnership with Raphael Varane at the heart of United’s backline.

When the pair is unavailable, Erik ten Hag has then turned to Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw at left centre-back, showing just how much Maguire has fallen in the pecking order.

Maguire mulls over United exit

It’s been reported in recent weeks that the 30-year-old would prefer to stay at Old Trafford, however, he knows that continued lack of game time may impact his place in the England squad, where he is one of Gareth Southgate’s most trusted lieutenants.

One factor that may hinder Maguire’s chances of a transfer is his high wages; currently, he is believed to earn around £200,000 per week, though this is set to increase due to United’s qualification for the Champions League.

  1. Maguire on 200k. That really is barmy.

I swear Woodward was a mole put there by city. I refuse to believe someone can be so incompetent at their job.
