Qatar-based Sheikh Jassim confident of beating Jim Ratcliffe in Manchester United bidding war

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s entourage is reportedly confident that it has won the race to take over Manchester United.

Almost eight months on from the initial announcement that the Glazers could be selling up, the end may be in sight – or at least that’s what the latest speculation suggests.

Bloomberg published a report this afternoon suggesting that Sheikh Jassim believes he will reign victorious in the bidding war. Certain figures in his inner circle are confident that it’s a matter of time until the Raine Group confirm their decision and the club announces the outcome to supporters.

However, it’s important to note that the Americans staying in control of United remains a possibility. The article adds: “The Glazers could make a last-minute decision to keep hold of the English Premier League club, accepting funds from an outside investor to renovate the club’s dilapidated stadium and training facilities, one of the people said. They asked not to be identified discussing confidential information.”

United must act on transfer market

Now is a pivotal time for the 20-time English champions as Erik ten Hag looks to build on a promising first term under his tenure. With Champions League football on the horizon plus the expectation of competing for the Premier League title, bolstering the squad adequately is a non-negotiable over the summer transfer window.

  1. These Glazers needs to leave. I’m tired. They are so reluctant to sell. I don’t know what their problem is. Why are they acting so obsessed with this club. I want the Sheikh to add something on top for them. Since they are all about the money. Greedy set of people. They won’t see that outside investment they are looking for. They only want to repair stadium and not do anything else. Useless owners.

  2. The glazers has to go out ASAP they are very greedy they will accept even 1 penny on top of the bid so they are holding on. They don’t think of the fans some fans are having sleepless night when getting up in the morning they will hear good news that the deal has taken place.
