Casemiro injury throws up further concerns for Manchester United’s medical department

Manchester United launched an internal investigation into their medical department earlier this season.

The Reds have been hit with 51 individual cases of injury or illness this season.

Casemiro is the latest player to pull out of a game with injury after he missed the 4-3 win over Liverpool on Sunday. However, as a result, the Brazilian will miss the international break in March.

Reports in Brazil claim Casemiro travelled to St. Albans to meet the Brazil squad and speak to the coaching staff, as per Trivela.

The report also states that Casemiro felt an issue in his hamstring while training ahead of United’s FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool. It is understood that it is a recurrence of the injury which had already ruled him out of action some months ago.

Trivela claims Casemiro spoke to a doctor at United and faced several examinations, but the club officials were convinced he had no problems – and gave him the green light to play against Liverpool.

Casemiro still felt the pain in his hamstring and decided to double check with a doctor in Barcelona who treated him for previous injuries. The doctor in Barcelona found a small injury that could have been made worse if he’d played against Liverpool.

There are already many reasons to doubt and question United’s medical department. This story, if true, is worrying to say the least.

I wonder how many of the muscular injuries we’ve suffered this season went under the radar before occurring?
