Manchester United star spotted wearing protective medical cast ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has already been listed as a doubt for Monday night’s trip to Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

The 29-year-old sustained an injury in the FA Cup semi-final win against Coventry City. Fernandes has since played through the pain barrier against Sheffield United and Burnley, despite having a bandage wrapped around his right wrist.

Two weeks on from that injury, although it looks like the Portuguese midfielder is having problems with his wrist.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Fernandes was pictured leaving a coffee shop in Wilmslow on Friday morning with his right wrist in a protective medical cast.

This could be the first match Fernandes misses for United through injury since joining the club from Sporting Lisbon in 2020. In terms of availability, you won’t find many more players committed to the cause like our Portuguese Magnificio.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Erik ten Hag said Fernandes was in a race against time to make the trip to Selhurst Park.

The Dutchman said (via Manchester Evening News): “After the game (vs Burnley) we had an issue with Bruno so he is a doubt for Monday, but he will fight to be a part of this game, as we know with Bruno.

“Never rule him out for any game and he is giving his best to be available.”

United could also be without Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford on Monday night.
