Napoli chief reiterates transfer stance on Victor Osimhen

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has reiterated his stance on Victor Osimhen, insisting one of Europe’s most wanted strikers is not for sale.

Manchester United were one of several top European clubs to have held an interest in Osimhen. However, it’s hardly rocket science to suggest United would want a striker capable of scoring 26 goals in 32 league games.

Osimhen was a key component behind Napoli’s league triumph.

Speaking about Osimhen’s future, De Laurentiis told Sky Italy (H/t Fabrizio Romano): “We will see Victor Osimhen wearing our shirt next season, that’s for sure. Then if a more than indecent proposal arrives, we will move on and find another top talent as we did with Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen.”

It goes without saying that United could do with a player like Osimhen. That’s why they wanted Harry Kane. The two of them are probably the only options out there that can guarantee us goals next season. That said, United won’t have the funding to sign them.

Hence why they’ve launched a pursuit to sign Rasmus Hojlund.

Anyhow, it doesn’t sound like Osimhen will be getting a move away from Napoli this summer. Like other players before him, the Nigerian striker will be priced out of a summer transfer.
