Ratcliffe ready to start 24/25 campaign with Ten Hag at the reins, but the manager is set to see his pay slashed

As it stands, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly preparing to start the 2024/2025 campaign with Erik ten Hag still in charge of Manchester United, contrary to recent reports.

That’s according to ESPN, which also states that the Dutch manager is set to see his pay slashed by 25 per cent upon the start of next season should United fail to qualify for the Champions League. They’re currently 16 points away from Aston Villa in fourth, although they have played two fewer games.

Of course, the situation could change drastically by then and Ratcliffe may well have a change of heart. The Red Devils are on course to level or break the record for their worst-ever Premier League finish (seventh in 2013/2014) unless results improve significantly before the term draws to a close.

Now winless in four consecutive matches, anything less than three points against rock-bottom Sheffield United this evening would only heap even more pressure on the shoulders of Ten Hag.
